Vitamin C and Your Skin!

What do you know about Vitamin C? If you’d asked me that six months ago, I’d have referenced oranges, scurvy, and those giant chewable tablets my mom used to give to us that I’m sure had absolutely no health benefits at all, but boy did I feel like I was being healthy when I was taking them! That’s what we know about vitamin C, right? You take it, and it keeps you healthy.

It seems like Vitamin C skincare is all anyone is talking about these days, and for good reason! Along with keeping early explorers from losing their teeth and bleeding out from lack of fruit on board the ship, Vitamin C can do a whole pile of good things to your skin! It turns out that’s what’s good for the inside of your body, is just as good for the outside of your body!

Here are three things you might not have known about Vitamin C, and why you’ll want to start using it in your skincare routine STAT!

  1. It can keep your skin looking younger! Sagging skin, wrinkles...proof you’re not as young as you know you really are? Vitamin C can help! Along with boosting collagen production, Vitamin C also helps to fight free radicals and damage caused from getting too much sun! The Beauty From Bees Vitamin C Face Cleanser is the perfect, gentle wash for getting your skin clean, clear, and looking its best!
  2. It can reverse the damage! Vitamin C can be used to lighten hyperpigmentation and dark spots, and even out the general appearance of your skin. It can even help to reduce the appearance of scars. Check out Exfoliate. It’s an invigorating Vitamin C scrub that’s great for cleaning out your pores, and exfoliating your way to brighter, firmer, healthier skin!
  3. It can help prevent future damage. Vitamin C works to thicken the outer layer of the skin, adding a boost to your natural UV protection (but please don’t use it as a replacement for sunscreen!). I’m a huge fan of the Vitamin C Face Spritz for a quick and refreshing way to brighten my skin, even my skin-tone, and give my skin a healthy boost of vitamin-packed hydration!

It turns out my mom was right, even if she might have put a little too much faith in those Flintstones chewables. The pH of your skin is actually different than the rest of your body, so crushing those vitamins into a mask probably isn’t going to give you the benefits you’re looking for, anyway. Beauty From Bees products are all specially formulated to be best for your facial skin, taking that pH into account! Vitamin C can be a game-changer for your whole body - inside and out. And when you’re looking your best, and you’re feeling your best, there’s nothing that’s going to stand in your way!
